We’re gonna need a bigger cake

First details of our alternative birthday bash for the King James Bible.
Taking over Stoke Newington International Airport on the April 23rd alongside co-curatoring performance printers the Henningham Family Press, poet Nathan Jones will be presenting Noahs Ark, whilst pianist Kerry Yong reworks Messiaen & Riley for casio keyboard. Hosted by Tim Clare, they’ll also be music from the Disco of the Sheep & Goats, bible influenced ‘bangers’ to see you through into the small wee hours.
We are delighted to announce our support for the two winning submissions to our open call commission.
Kerri Meehan & Sophie Von Cundale will be performing The Last Word, an ongoing project taking the form of an absurdist magazine. Surreal and schizophrenic in content, The Last Word reflects the eschatological nature of television broadcasting. Kerri & Sophie have previously performed for Resonance FM as part of Frieze Art Fair, and at the South London Gallery.
And Marcus Orlandi will be performing 3:16, a performance lecture theorising parallels between the bible narratives of Creation and Redemption and wrestler Steve Austin’s 3:16 character, charting its significance to culture at the time and its importance to the World Wrestling Federation universe.
“You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn’t get you anywhere! Talk about your psalms, talk about John 3:16… Austin 3:16 says I just whooped your ass!”
Anyone who attended Keep Printing & Carry On last year will have an idea of what to expect – roll up your sleeves, get a little bit dirty and prepare to partake in a plethora of temptations for the tongue….
